Checker Champion

In 1915, the YMCA was a place of entertainment as well as exercise. On this date 100 years ago the Pantagraph reported that a checkers champion was giving demonstrations. A large crowd of spectators came to the Y and Morton Spielman of Chicago, the northwest territory champ, played 35 of them, never losing a game or even tying a game.
