Lauran Eagan, Colfax

Lauran Eagan was the 4 and half year old son of Lawson and Laura Geerkens Eagan in 1929 when his photo appeared in the Pantagraph. At that early age, Lauran was said to be a talented musician who was even performing with Chautauquas. He had been given this drum set by his parents and was also taking piano lessons.

Lauran went on to attend high school in Colfax and he took part in theatrics there as well as singing, the FFA and circus performances.

After graduating high school in 1943, Lauren joined the Army Air Corps to become a pilot during WWII. After his training, he became an air force trainer in Texas.

In later life, Lauran lived in Dallas, Texas with his wife and two children. He worked as a salesman for an office supply company, but unfortunately I could not learn whether he continued to pursue music in his leisure time.
