Deep below Forest Park are the old Meyer and Wochner Brewery caves. In 1947 people had shown some interest in the caves, so park keeper E.R. Burnett started taking people on guided tours of the caves. Even in 1947 he had to dig through vegetation and dirt to get to the cave opening.
On March 13, 1947 he took Carol Tudor and Ronald Stutzman (and photograph Don Goodrich) into the cave.
Carol and Ronald aren't sure if it is too scary to go in . . .
But Mr. Burnett has a flashlight and lantern, so it almost feels safe.
Above their heads is a large hole big enough for a man -- or even a barrel!
Were you ever in the Meyer and Wochner caves???
