David Rodgers, Orphan Train Rider

David Rodgers (1882 - ?) was sent west in 1893 and placed with the Myron Lee family in Milledgeville, Carroll County. David had immigrated from England in 1889, most likely with his family. After David joined the Lees, they had four children of their own and by 1910 the entire family moved to Genesee in Whiteside County.

It appears that a second "New York" orphan was also living with the Lees during the 1900 census. Lillian Holden was born in 1887 in Massachusetts and had no other relatives in Illinois. Her name appears in the roll of the New York Juvenile Asylum.

No further information could be found about David Rodgers or Lillian Holden.
