Mary & John Dorsey, Orphan Train Riders

Mary Dorsey (1860 - 1936) wrote to the Asylum in 1896, when she was 36 years old. She reported her marriage to Perry Breeding in 1877. She had worked for wages for after the death of her guardian and then married at age seventeen. She had one son, Harry Leslie Breeding. Mary died April 28, 1936 in Decatur, IL.

Mary also had a brother, John Dorsey, who survived her. He was living in Kansas City at the time of her death and was also married. He appeared in the census in 1900 and 1910 in Macoupin County, IL with his wife Lucy and his daughter Vesta. His daughter married Adam Jenkins.
