Edward and Mary Seibert, Henry County

Edward and Mary Seibert were sent to Illinois in about 1877, and were living with Henry and Roxana Ferguson of Annawan, Henry County in 1880. Edward made his home in Annawan for the remainder of his life, working on the railroad. He married Mary J Mole and had two children with her: Harry and Margaret. In 1940 he was 68 years old and still working as a flag man with the railroad. He owned his home in Annawan. He died in 1957 and was buried in the Annawan Cemetery.

Mary Seibert married in 1883 to John Wesley Williams. They lived in Geneseo, Henry County, where John was a day laborer in 1900 and a janitor in a bank in 1920. They had Henry, Flossie, Ida, Mary, Edna, Frank, Harold, and Lena. In 1940 Mary appeared in the census with her son, Frank, in Geneseo. Mary was widowed and Frank was a cement worker. Neither Mary's not Frank's education extended beyond the eighth grade. Mary died in Silvis, IL in February 1957. Only one son and four daughters were living at the time of her death. She was buried in North Cemetery in Geneseo, Henry County.

Mary's obituary stated that her father was Edward Seibert of New York.
