The Hobsons

Very little is known of Joshua Hobson or his two children, Everilla and George. Everilla died in 1848 after giving birth to five children by two different husbands and George died in 1852 of cholera.

Everilla’s son Martin Williams began a line of descendants who still live today. His son Martin Henry Williams had four children who remained in McLean County. Possibly most notable was George N. Williams who worked for Alpha Cellulose Co. in Saybrook and owned the Arrowsmith Café for 35 years. Russell Williams died in 1978 at the Hines Veterans Hospital and was a WWII veteran.

If you are a direct descendant of Henry Martin Williams, George N. Williams, or Russell Williams, you are a descendant of the pioneers of 1838!
