Residents of Taylor, Willard & Clay
The residents of Taylor, Willard and Clay Streets had such interesting occupations as "tinner" and "gardener." The full spectrum of transportation was represented on these three streets. Mr. Lehman was a horseshoer, Mr. Pierce was a city railway conductor and Mr. Good sold and repaired automobile tires! One business is represented: the Saddler Nurseries. Several members of the Saddler family were living or had lived in Founder's Grove. Many men on these streets owned or worked for some of the many manufacturing concerns in Bloomington and Normal. In World War I Mrs. Caroline Boydston lost her son Richard on a ship bound for the French battlefields.
