Assault and Batter

Yesterday we saw an article urging farmers to take care that eggs were properly handled to avoid bad eggs. On August 7, 1915, Mr. Sam Bray and Mrs. Mary Purdy each came to the police complaining of the other. Mrs. Purdy had purchased eggs from Mr. Bray's store and accused him of selling her bad eggs. She brought her batter as proof. They argued and Mrs. Purdy claimed that Mr. Bray tried to strike her with a chair. It was then that she assaulted him with the batter.
